Baby and woman freed from car after Bruce Highway crash

UPDATE 6.30PM:

POLICE are still on the scene of an earlier incident on the Bruce Highway.

A police media spokesman said both lanes of traffic were open and flowing but traffic was still slow.

UPDATE 5.25PM:

ALL occupants have been freed from a vehicle that crashed into the median strip on the Bruce Highway.

A female with sore ribs is being assessed by paramedics and a baby that was also on board is being assessed but appears to be uninjured.

Delays are expected.

EARLIER:

PARAMEDICS and police are heading to the scene of a single vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway.

It's reported that a car was travelling northbound when it spun out, off the road, and into the median strip in the middle of the highway one kilometre north of Johnston Road.

A QAS media spokesman believed young female had sustained rib injuries and that there also may be a child on board but crews hadn't arrived on the scene yet.

Traffic is beginning to build up as a result of the crash.

There has been a number of thefts in the area
