Centenary Hwy open following earlier car fire

UPDATE: The Centenary Highway has been reopened following an earlier car fire.

The vehicle was well involved when firefighters first arrived on scene just after 10am.

The fire was under control a short time later and the car was left with a towing company.

Police say the fire is not suspicious.

The highway was reopened about 10.45am.

 

EARLIER: Firefighters have been called to Springfield, where a car has reportedly caught fire on the Centenary Hwy.

One west-bound lane of the highway is closed and police are conducting traffic control.

Firefighters have brought the fire under control and there are no reports of injury.
