Car impounded and man charged after alleged hooning

A 25-YEAR-old man has had his car impounded after allegedly being caught in the act of doing "large burnouts" in Hervey Bay.

Sergeant Paul Byrne said patrolling police saw the man doing the burnout on Frangipani St at 3pm.

He was charged with making unnecessary noise and smoke and his car was impounded under Queensland's hooning legislation.
