Case against mum accused of poisoning child delayed

MEDICAL tests will delay a court case for a mum accused of poisoning her four-year-old daughter with chemotherapy drugs.

The 22-year-old woman, originally from Mackay but now living on the Gold Coast, remains in custody, having not made a bail application.

She was charged with causing grievous bodily harm after the girl became gravely ill and had to be hospitalised.

The woman allegedly pleaded, through social media updates, for bone marrow donors and donations as she charted her daughter's medical problems. She raised almost $400.

A prosecutor told Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday morning they were waiting for blood tests from the girl to be analysed.

The case was adjourned until July 22.
