CCTV images released of suspected ATM attackers

POLICE have released CCTV still images of three men that may be able to assist with investigations into the attempted break and enter of two automatic teller machines (ATM) in Mackay.

The first incident occurred around 11.30pm Friday night inside a Bucasia Road shopping center in Mount Pleasant.

Three men used a large power tool in to attempt to gain entry to a standalone ATM. The men were reportedly disturbed by cleaners and left the scene empty handed.

Then just after 4am Saturday morning three men broke into a grocery store on Downie Avenue, Bucasia and again used a large power tool to attempt to break into a second standalone ATM. The men were again unsuccessful in gaining entry to the ATM and left the scene in a white tray back utility (pictured).

Police believe the incidents are linked.
