Charges against dead woman cleared

CHARGES against a Maryborough woman who took her own life have been thrown out of court.

The 38-year-old woman had been accused of setting fire to her ex-boyfriend’s Aldershot home.

She took her own life on December 15 – just a day after she was released on bail on charges of attempted arson, attempted break and enter and wilful damage. It was alleged she set fire to the house because her ex had formed a new relationship.

Magistrate Tom Killeen this week dismissed all the charges.
