A CHILD has been taken to hospital and a driver issued with a traffic infringement after a two-vehicle crash in Torquay on Friday morning.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were on the scene of the crash at the intersection of Denmans Camp Rd and Freshwater St.

Traffic was being diverting traffic around the crash site.

Police at the scene said a young child in a car travelling on Denmans Camp Rd was taken to the Hervey Bay Hospital suffering from whiplash.

Another driver was given a traffic infringement for failing to give way.
