Christian art inspires at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery

THE CHRISTIAN religion has been a source of artistic inspiration throughout history.

Now the tradition continues at the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery with the Bayside Artist exhibition.

More than 70 pieces are on show painted by members of the Bayside Christian Church.

While this is the fifth exhibition the artists' combined artworks have beendisplay, it is the first time the collection has been on show at the gallery.

Jade Hislop (picture) said the pieces were inspired by spirituality and a connection with God.

"The paintings are about scripture, landscapes and animals," she said.

The exhibition is on at the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery until November 1.

Visit the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery at 166 Old Maryborough Road, Pialba.
