City break record as unbeaten EPL run continues

AN easy 4-0 win at Swansea kept Manchester City 11 points clear at the top of the English Premier League.

The leaders barely needed ot get out of first gear as two goals from David Silva, a Kevin de Bruyne free-kick and a sublime goal from Sergio Aguero saw them break a record for the most consecutive wins in an EPL season.

City now have 15 victories in the campaign with rivals Manchester United in second after Romelu Lukaku's header gave them a 1-0 home win over Bournemouth.

Elsewhere, Australian keeper Mat Ryan watched on as a Serge Aurier cross-shot looped over him into the corner to give Tottenham the lead against Brighton.

Son Heung Min scored a late second with Spurs' 2-0 win moving them up to fourth above Liverpool on goal difference.

The Reds missed a chance to consolidated fourth after a frustrating 0-0 draw with struggling West Brom at Anfield.

Arsenal dropped to seventh, a point below Burnley, after a goalless draw at David Moyes' improving West Ham United.

Meanwhile, Sam Allardyce has continued his unbeaten start at Everton as the Toffees won 1-0 at Newcastle.

Wayne Rooney scored the winner with his seventh goal in eight league games.

Claude Puel enjoyed a successful return to his former club Southampton as in-form Leicester City won 4-1 at St Mary's to notch up a fourth successive win.

Japanese forward Shinji Okazaki scored twice for Leicester, with Riyad Mahrez and Andy King also on target, while Maya Yoshida replied for the hosts.
