MORE than a hundred junior school students from Fraser Coast Anglican College are practising their dancing, singing and acting for this year's musical.

Students from kindy to grade six will be performing the musical 'Daniel: A Hard Act to Swallow' on April 28 and 29, based on the biblical story of Daniel in the lion's den.

Toivo Blanc, 11, said he was "excited but nervous at the same time" to be taking on the lead role of Daniel.

"It's a wonderful experience," Toivo said. "I have a feeling I will do very well."

Drama teacher Kelli Hurford has been rehearsing with the students since Easter.

She said junior and senior school students had been involved with the costume design, promotional artwork for the show and helping the younger ones with their lines and stage directions.

"We have grade 10 and 12 students who are helping as part of their leadership assessment," Ms Hurford said.

"They will be guiding the little ones and helping them when they need it."

The show will begin at 5.30 on both evenings, and there will be a matinee performance on Friday, April 29.

For the first time, a musical will be held at the school in the under-cover area.
