Masters swimming comp comes to Bay

AFTER two weekends on the road, the Hervey Bay Masters Swimming Club will be excited to be heading home for their own swimming carnival on February 27.

Several members of the club will be travelling to the Sunshine Coast this weekend to compete and will be heading to Rockhampton soon after for another carnival.

Clubs from all over Queensland will also head to Hervey Bay to compete in the carnival at the end of the month.

Clubs from the Gold Coast to Gladstone, Rockhampton, Tweed and Brisbane will be heading to the carnival.

Maryborough’s masters swimming club will also be sending along a group of competitors to compete.

Although it is a masters carnival, the age limit has been dropped to 18 and organisers expected ages to range from 18 to 80 on the day.

With an emphasis on fun and fitness, the day is sure to be a lot of fun for all involved.

The day will be held at Hervey Bay Aquatic Centre and will kick off at 11.30am and finish about 4pm.

The Hervey Bay club will also host a social night at Hervey Bay RSL on February 27, after the competition.

The theme will be aliens, myths and monsters.
