Coast players win medals at national under-15 hockey titles
HOCKEY: Some of Fraser Coast's rising hockey stars have tasted national title glory at the Australian Under-15 Hockey Championships.
Diarmid Chappell and Harrisen Douma were part of the Boys' Maroon team which beat Western Australia Gold 3-1 in the final.
Chappell was credited with three goals from the tournament while Douma scored two.
Five Fraser Coast female hockey players won bronze as part of the girls' Maroon team.
Hannah Cullum-Sanders, Rose Elmer, Madeline Kenny, Andie Staples and Annelyse Tevant were part of the team which fell 2-0 to eventual runners-up Victoria Blue in the semi final.
Kenny scored in their 3-2, bronze medal playoff win against Western Australia Gold.
She scored two goals in the tournament, while Cullum-Sanders scored four, and Tevant scored two.
The female Queensland Gold team, which included local pair Lily Browning and Beth Elmer, finished fifth while the male team was eighth.
