Coast toddler can't breathe, yet Qld Health won't operate

"LUDICROUS" Queensland Health red tape is preventing an 11-month-old girl who regularly stops breathing in her sleep from having a potentially life-saving tonsillectomy.

Olivia-Rose Ciseau needs surgery to remove her tonsils, which are so swollen they often cause her to stop breathing.

But doctors cannot operate on the Sunshine Coast tot because of Queensland Health red tape which bans the operation Olivia needs until she is 12 months of age - in 25 days' time.

Olivia-Rose's terrified mum Victoria Bromhead, 26, lays awake beside her daughter every night fearing she could stop breathing in her sleep and die.
