Coast youngster named in AFL Queensland's U16 team

ONE OF the Fraser Coast's rising stars was named in the Queensland squad for the NAB AFL Under-16 Championships.

Bruce Reville is one of only two players from outside the south-east corner to be named in the squad.

Reville currently plays for Bay Power, with whom he made his senior debut last week, but spent most of his junior years at Maryborough Bears.

He and his 22 teammates will travel to Blacktown, in Sydney's west, for the June 12 competition.

Reville made headlines last year when he was awarded AFL Queensland's Troy Clarke Scholarship.

The Troy Clarke Scholarship is named after the former Brisbane Bear who died in 2013.

It is designed to support a young person from regional Queensland each year, who displays the same core values that Clarke, a former AFLQ game development manager, embodied throughout his life.
