HAVE fun, get out and active with the Col Pearce Corporate Triathlon, which the organiser says offers proof anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

In honour of Col Pearce who participated in the 2009 10km bike leg of the triathlon while aged more than 70 and undergoing chemotherapy during his battle with cancer, the 2014 triathlon is returning in Hervey Bay this Sunday.

The event is made up of a 300m swim, 10km bike ride and 3km run which begins at 2pm at Ernie Organ Park, Torquay.

Two hundred and fifty applicants have already registered, organiser Gary Pearce said.

Prizes for best dressed as well as triathlon winners include Fraser Island day trips and accommodation.

There have been some great efforts in the past, including medical teams, nurses, Wonder Women, super heroes and pink ladies.

Registration is $120 per team, with all proceeds going to the Cancer Council to fund research in memory of Col Pearce.
