Connor hunts for Tiger and title

TIGER Woods is not the only golf star in Melbourne at the moment or so it seems.

Connor Reeves is well in the hunt to be crowned an Australian champion in Victoria.

The 12-year-old member of the Hervey Bay Golf Club is on top of the leader board after the opening round of the Australian School Sport National Championships at Rosebud Golf and Country Club.

Reeves has a two-shot lead heading into today’s second and final round after carding a red-hot 76 on the par 71 layout.

Maryborough Golf Club member Kate Law is also well placed in the girls division.

She is five shots behind the leader after a round of 81.

Reeves and Law had the day off yesterday and both went to see Tiger play in the Australian Maters Pro-am at Kingston Heath.
