Council division declared but no date for first meeting

 
THE date of the first new council meeting is still to be decided despite all council divisions being declared.

Following an election, council must meet within 14 days of the last division being declared.

The final division was declared on Thursday meaning the first meeting must be held by April 21.

Mayor-elect Chris Loft said a decision on when the meeting would be held had not been made yet.


"We will be having an induction for councillors on Monday and Tuesday," he said.

Cr Loft said the decision of when the first meeting would be held would be part of the discussions next week.
