Council provide dog tag advice

DOG TAGS can be tricky things for old hands so the Fraser Coast Regional Council has provided some advice to help get the compulsory tags on to Rover’s collar.

Several older residents have complained about the tags being a little bit tight, with the hole on the plastic tag leaving little room for movement of the silver split ring supplied to attach the tag onto collars.

Maryborough resident Chicka Derwent demonstrated the problem using his dog’s tag.

A council spokesman gave this advice to dog owners experiencing difficulty with their registration tag.

“It is easier to attach the silver split ring to the dog’s collar and then to the dog tag, rather than attach the split ring to the tag and then the tag to the animal’s collar.”
