Council pet walks to start at 6.30am from October

EARLY birds will welcome the return to a 6.30am start for the Fraser Coast Regional Council's Walk with Me pet walks from next month.

The walks are held at Dayman Park in Urangan on the first Sunday of every month and at ESA Park on the third Sunday every month.

Councillor Robert Garland said the walks would be starting at 6.30am once again from October with the return of the warmer weather.

"The sun is starting to come up earlier with the return of summer so we'll start the walks a little earlier," he said.

The program encourages dog owners to get outdoors, have some fun and exercise with their pets.

During the walks, council compliance staff present information on dog behaviour and ways to solve little problems such as keeping your dog entertained so it does not bark and annoy the neighbours.

The walks are free to attend and include a light morning tea.
