EDITORIAL: Councillors need to get on with job
EDITORIAL: You'd think by now some of the councillors would finally get on with the job of driving this community to prosper.
Yet we're not far off entering campaign mode as the 2016 local government elections roll around.
Until then it should be business as usual with infrastructure growth in Hervey Bay and heritage preservation in Maryborough.
But some councillors still spend their days blaming people and organisations such as the Chronicle for their failures.
We're accused of running with the bad rather than focusing on the plans and projects councillors are driving to make the region good.
As the voice of this community, it is our job to analyse what decisions councillors make with ratepayers' money - some will be welcomed, others not.
But we will not be lectured by this council on negativity.
I'm not painting them all with the same brush, there are some very good hard-workers in there.
But some can't speak to a journalist without throwing in a line designed to undermine a colleague.
Today's story about the complaints register is evidence of that.
