Court told of $118,000 rip off

A FORMER employee of the Kondari hotel has appeared in the HerveyBay Magistrates Court accused of stealing more than $100,000 from thebusiness.

Lisa Joy Kruger, the 35-year-old daughter-in-law ofFraser Coast Mayor Mick Kruger, faced court yesterday represented bysolicitor David Hinton.

The case was adjourned for committal mention on January 21.

Police allege Kruger stole $118,000 from the Urangan hotel between April 28, 2008, and March 26 this year.

Kruger had worked at the hotel for several years as an administration manager and dealt with financial matters on a daily basis.

She was suspended from her position while a forensic accountant investigated the matter earlier this year.

Kruger reportedly denied any wrongdoing when confronted by the business owners – she was sacked from her job in March.
