Cracking time to be had by all at Bauple nut bash

IF YOU'RE looking for a cracking good time, head out to the Bauple Nut Bash Festival this weekend.

Organising committee member Debbie Brischke said the annual Bauple Nut Bash was a family funfest, featuring everything from a tug-o-war to the nut cracking championships.

"All of this year's kids games and activites are free - jumping castle, rock wall climbing, everything,” she said.

"And our competitions are free including the nut cracking competition, tug-o-war and the minions dress up competition with plenty of prizes to win.”

The local rural fire brigade, SES and Wide Bay Historical Machinery group will be on display.

The Bauple Fairies will entertain and music is set to be a highlight with Brisbane-based band The Shills kicking off the evening.

The sky will ignite after dark with fireworks, and Ron Laycock's jet fuelled engine is also sure to draw a crowd.

There will be a bar and canteen plus a number of stalls and fundraisers.

The Bauple Nut Bash kicks off at 2pm on Saturday, September 3, at the Bauple Recreation Centre on Forestry Rd at Bauple. Free camping is available.
