Crashes halt highway traffic

AS MARYBOROUGH recorded the weekend’s highest rainfall across Queensland yesterday the Fraser Coast witnessed two crashes on the Bruce Highway.

A total of six cars were involved in the two accidents which happened within hours of each other yesterday afternoon.

They also took place along the same stretch of highway; the first just north of Tiaro, the second just south of the Bauple exit.

Highway drivers struggled with reduced visibility as heavy rain pelted the region, thunder roared overhead and lightning could be seen in the distance.
