THERE are smoke issues on the Hevey Bay Golf Course as three crews work to put out a grass fire on Tooth St, Pialba.

The fire is backing onto the Ergon Substation and is not causing any risks to homes or buildings.  

Station Officer Neil Probert said the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Crews were called to the fire about 11.55am.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said about 3ha of bushland was on fire.
