Crews to investigate Torquay house fire

INVESTIGATIONS will continue on Tuesday after a fire broke out in the ceiling of a home in Tavistock St, Torquay.

The fire started about 10.20pm on Sunday night and a woman suffered minor burns before she and the other resident were able to escape the house.

Fire crews were quickly able to extinguish the flames and station officer Shaun Murphy said the firefighters were able to save most of the house.

Mr Murphy said it was unclear how the fire started.
