Cricketers hope for good weather

THERE will be plenty of men hoping to have an appealing day tomorrow.

Those who are bowlers will be for sure.

Round one of the Fraser Coast Cricket A-grade competition is scheduled to start tomorrow, providing Mother Nature doesn’t stump that plan.

Ground staff will be working overtime to get two grounds fit after this week’s rain.

In Maryborough action, defending premiers, Past Grammars, take on Hervey Bay’s Cavaliers at Newtown Oval.

The other game of the round sees the Hervey Bay Mariners clash with Maryborough’s Australs at Urangan’s Keith Dunne Oval.

The one-day games are 40-overs per team and both start at 12.30pm – weather permitting.

The other regional team in the competition, Hervey Bay’s Bushrangers, start the season with a bye.
