A CROCODILE has been spotted by a member of the public at Bunya Creek at River Heads.

The sighting was reported to the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection on January 25.

The person estimated the crocodile to be about 1.5 metres in length.

Wildlife officers conducted two vessel-based patrols but no crocodiles were observed in the area.

Wildlife officers installed crocodile sighting warning signs and will continue to monitor reports.

Crocodile sightings can be reported to EHP on 1300 130 372 and the department investigates all crocodile reports it receives.
