Current BRL players overlooked for Queensland Rangers

QUEENSLAND Rangers will be without a current Bundaberg Rugby League player for the first time in years when they take on the Ron Massey Cup representative team on June 25.

The squad includes eight members of the victorious Central Crows side, which won the QRL A-grade State Carnival last weekend.

But the side will not include any current BRL players.

The last time that happened was in 2012 when a Rangers team was not selected.

The squad includes plenty of BRL flavour however, withe side to be coached by Maryborough Brothers stalwart Glen Dreger.

Hervey Bay product Sam Burns, who is currently playing for Noosa Pirates, will start at hooker while former Across The Waves second-rower Rueben Baillie, who now plays for Nambour Crusher, was also selected.
