Cyclist, 41, hit by car has broken leg and head injuries

A 41-YEAR-old cyclist has a broken leg and head injuries after being hit by a car on Walker St in Maryborough on Wednesday night.

Police said the forensic crash unit is investigating the crash which left the cyclist with critical injuries.

It's believed the man was struck by a car when he failed to give way while riding his bike on Walker St about 6.45pm, police said.

He remains in the Hervey Bay Hospital with a fractured leg and head injuries.

Investigations are continuing.
