Darling Downs man walks 17 hours to court appearance

A DARLING Downs man was forced to walk 17 hours to appear in court after losing his licence.

Casey Lincoln Bignell was scheduled to appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on Monday for failing to respond to SPER notices.

He missed the deadline to hand in his broken-down vehicle to Tara police.

With no licence, Mr Bignell walked almost 17 hours from his home in Tara to the Dalby courthouse.

His journey was as expensive as it was exhausting with the court handing Bignell a $1200 fine and disqualifying him from driving for four months.

Fortunately Bignell managed to get a lift home with another person appearing in court that day.
