Dayman Park's $135,000 revamp progressing well
A MAJOR refurbishment of the lower section of Urangan's Dayman Park is almost finished.
"The park is very popular and was showing signs of wear and tear," Fraser Coast Regional Council events, sport and recreation and open space portfolio councillor Darren Everard said.
"It was also suffering from poor drainage because it is at the bottom of the hill."
The $135,000 project, which should be finished in a couple of weeks, has included the installation of a new multi-slide, boat-themed playground for younger children and softfall surface, shelter, barbecue and bike racks.
Seating, the swing and a water bubbler have been moved to more suitable locations within the park.
The irrigation has been extended and bins replaced.
"The new equipment and improved drainage will mean more people will be able to use the park all year around which will boost its popularity," Division 10 councillor and Deputy Mayor George Seymour said.
