Deputy PM in the Bay to launch Hinkler Labor candidate's bid

DEPUTY Prime Minister Anthony Albanese launched Labor's bid for the seat of Hinkler on Friday afternoon at the Hervey Bay Community Centre.

Mr Albanese joined Labor candidate Leanne Donaldson to announce Labor's future plans for the region, including aiming to lower Fraser Coast unemployment and reduce the cost of living.

Mr Albanese said if the Rudd Labor Government was re-elected, the rollout of the National Broadband Network would start next year to 20,000 homes and businesses in Hervey Bay, Craignish, Dundowran, Dundowran Beach, Eli Waters, Kawungan, Nikenbah, Pialba, Point Vernon, Scarness, Toogoom, Torquay, Urraween, and Wondunna.
