Deputy PM Warren Truss announces he'll recontest his seat

DEPUTY Prime Minister Warren Truss has announced he'll recontest the seat of Wide Bay at the next Federal Election.

After a party meeting in Rockhampton on Thursday, Mr Truss told journalists he would be nominating.

Lucy Stanton was announced as Labor's candidate for Wide Bay earlier this year.

In the 2013 Federal Election Mr Truss survived a 2.5% swing to Ms Stanton and Labor to retain the seat with 63.2% of the vote.

Mr Truss Mr Truss first won the of Wide Bay in 1990.
