Deputy principal faces child sex claims

A DEPUTY principal at an Ipswich school accused of child sex offences has been suspended.

The man, who cannot be identified, appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court yesterday charged with three counts of indecent treatment of a child under the age of 16.

The charges related to incidents alleged to have occurred about 30 years ago, but are not connected with his role at the school.

The accused deputy principal has been suspended from his employment at the school until the legal process has been completed.

The case was adjourned to September 9.
