Peak aviation body warns do not fly near a fire

AUSTRALIA'S peak aviation body is warning people about flying unmanned aircraft or drones near bushfires ahead of the summer months.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority issued a statement that highlighted the safety risk drones could pose to firefighting aircraft and bush firefighters.

Anyone caught flying a drone in areas on fire could face fines of up to $9000.
