Dog beach off-leash times brought forward by an hour

DOG owners will have more time to walk their pooches in off-leash areas during winter.

Fraser Coast Regional Council, at its meeting on Wednesday, agreed to extend the off-leash walking times by one hour.

Under the change, off-leash times will now start at 3pm rather than 4pm.

"The change will allow dog owners more time in daylight to walk their pets during winter," Deputy Mayor George Seymour said.

The 24-hour off-leash beaches remain unchanged.
