Dress up then sit down and take the ride of your life

FRILLS and fitness will go hand in handlebar this weekend as Fraser Coast Regional Council encourages residents to get active as part of the annual Frocks on Bikes - Blokes on Spokes event.

The event starts from Hervey Bay Botanic Gardens on Sunday and is part of the council's Live Life Healthy initiative, which ends in June. The initiative has been running for the past four years and has included a range of lifestyle modification, physical activity and healthy eating programs to encourage members of the Fraser Coast community to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Healthy Communities co-ordinator Maureen Murphy said the event was about encouraging riders to dress up for the occasion.
