Drink-driver was three times over legal limit

A DRIVER was allegedly three times over the legal limit when he took the wheel on Monday night.

The 34-year-old Granville resident was intercepted by police on Kent St, at the corner of Ferry St, about 11.15pm in Maryborough after he did a U-turn in an unlawful place.

The man then allegedly blew a blood-alcohol reading of .161.

When police asked him to produce a licence, he was unable to do so.

He was released on bail.

The man will appear in the Maryborough Magistrates Court on October 12
