Drivers make Dash for the cash

THERE will be no shortage of drivers in a hurry at Maryborough Speedway tonight.

Well, they will have to be if they want to win a nice pay packet in the fifth annual running of the Dash 4 Cash for V8 Sprintcars.

The event has close to $20,000 on offer to those who feature on the podium come the end of the night.

With such a big prize pool, it comes as no surprise that event has attracted the best of the best in the business.

Leading the charge to the chequered flag in the field of 25 drivers will be Queensland champion James McFadden.

He’ll be hoping to continue his love affair with the Tinana track after he won the Queensland title here in June.

McFadden, who now races out of Western Australia, said he couldn’t wait to race again in the Heritage City.

“I love the Maryborough track – it’s just great for Sprintcar racing especially when we can run the high line,” he said.

But it won’t only be the V8 Sprintcars on track to impress tonight, a record field of 50 Modified Productions will battle it out for line honours in the opening round of the Fraser Coast Drivers Championship.

Also on the program are the 4 Cylinder Sedans and the Junior Sedans. Racing starts at 4pm.
