Drug offences up on the Fraser Coast

DRUG offences across the Wide Bay Burnett are up by 3% according to the latest figures from the Queensland Police Service Annual Statistical Review.

The increase in drug offences comes despite a drop in the overall crime rate by about 3% for the 2014-2015 financial year.

The Annual Statistical Review compiles a snapshot of crime rates in the Wide Bay Burnett Police District which includes Hervey Bay and Maryborough in its coverage area.

The review comes the same week a 74-year-old Urangan man was charged with allegedly possessing more than 370 cannabis plants.
