Drunk driver caught in Yandina almost 4 times the limit

AT 10.35am on Monday April 18, Nambour Police conducting routine RBT intercepted a vehicle on Coolum-Yandina Road, Yandina.

It will be alleged that the 54-year-old male driver from Yandina was subjected to a roadside breath test (RBT) which returned a high positive reading.

The man was conveyed to a Breath Analysis Section (BAS) and provided a specimen of breath which returned an alleged reading of 0.193 per cent BAC (nearly four times the legal limit).

The man is to appear in the Nambour Magistrates Court on May 9 on drink driving charges.

Senior Sergeant Gary Brayley, Officer in Charge of Nambour Police would like to remind road users that police have an anywhere, anytime approach to RBT and traffic enforcement.

"It's very frustrating for police when drivers fail to get the road safety message and drive whilst severely impaired," Senior Sergeant Brayley said.
