Dustin Hoffman wants road fixed

A FAMOUS name has called on the council for a Maryborough road to be fixed.

Dustin Hoffman was one of 22 people to sign a petition to seal Old Coach Rd, which has been waiting for an upgrade since 2006.

Allan Fuary was the chief petitioner, and said residents on the street had been waiting since the days of the Maryborough City Council to have something done.

Mr Fuary said there was $1.2 million in the council budget to fix "unspecified" roads under the Roads to Recovery Program, and said some of this money should be used for Old Coach Rd.

Councillor Robert Garland tabled the petition in the council meeting, with the council voting to investigate the logistics of the sealing and get back to Mr Fuary.

Dustin Hoffman is a resident of Old Coach Rd, and is not believed to be related to the Hollywood icon.
