Early arrival but mum was ready

IT WAS three weeks before his due date and already Cooper Jeffery was springing surprises on his parents, Hervey Bay's Samantha and Steve Carroll.

Thankfully Samantha had already packed her bags when she went into labour early.

“At least that part was good,” she said.

Shane and Samantha are thrilled to have a little boy after having their little girl, Charlotte – and Charlotte is pretty excited as well.

“She's stoked,” Samantha said.

“She came to all the appointments and ultrasounds. She doesn't leave him alone.”

Samantha had a straightforward pregnancy and birth and has had plenty of visitors since the baby was born.

Her parents live in Hervey Bay and she has had lots of support.

The family is now anticipating the arrival of Shane's family from Brisbane – they can't wait to meet the new baby.

Shane's dad is especially excited – his name is Jeffery and the baby's middle name was given for him.

“He was very happy,” Samantha said. “We surprised him with it.”

Samantha and Shane picked out several names but the one they both loved was Cooper.

“We both liked it.”
