A COMBINATION of good weather, big events and a four-day weekend has brought in an estimated several million dollars for the Fraser Coast economy.

Fraser Coast Mayor Gerard O'Connell said the short-term economic boost of the Easter long weekend would help deliver long-term results.

"These four-five days have been a phenomenal boost to us short term," he said.

"The planets really aligned."

Cr O'Connell said the huge crowds that come to the Fraser Coast for Easter could help hook future investment in holidaying, business tourism and property investment for the region.

Events that took advantage of the Easter crowds included the Show and Shine open day at Maryborough Showgrounds as hundreds of hot rods and custom cars were put on display.

Mustang owners Graham and Joyleen Kohler were among the thousands of people who admired the collection yesterday.

"The show is amazing, it's a great roll up," Mrs Kohler said.

The region also played host to national archery titles and its regular annual Easter events and caravan parks and camping sites on both the mainland and on Fraser Island were either full or close to capacity.
