Elderly man dies in hospital after car crash in Dundathu

A man injured in single vehicle traffic crash at Dundathu on November 6 has died in a Brisbane hospital on Tuesday.

The crash occurred just after 1pm on Maryborough-Hervey Bay road with initial investigations indicating the man's vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver and sole occupant, an 86-year-old Maryborough man, was initially taken to Hervey Bay Hospital for treatment. He has since died at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
