Elderly woman allegedly hit after requesting quieter music

A 76-YEAR-OLD woman was allegedly punched in the face, breaking her nose, in Tuan about 10.30pm on Wednesday.

Maryborough police Sergeant Bruce Hodgins said the woman had knocked on a door of a neighbour to ask for the music to be turned down.

Sgt Hodgins said police will allege a 45-year-old man took offence and punched the woman in the face.

Police will also allege the man kicked the woman while she was on the ground.

The elderly woman was taken to hospital with a suspected broken nose.

The man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

He will appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court on February 9.
