Additional fines won't stop repeat offenders

READER'S STORY: I am so sick of reading the amount of people who are not incarcerated after repeat offences.

People who drive with no licence, drive suspended, drive without an interlock device - do you think an additional fine will stop them?

Obviously not.

People who are molesting, video taking and interfering with children, are not thrown in jail, they're allowed to be part of our society.

Has nothing been learnt from the Daniel Morcombe case?

Young people who attack cab drivers, are violent, steal and again on parole, on probation, on home detention - this is not acceptable.

I read the paper every day and see acts of break-ins, violence and driving offences.

It seems it is all getting much worse and these scum bags becoming more bold.

Lock 'em up, or put them all in boot camp.

Seriously, this justice system does not create a responsibility and consequences-for-actions mentality - it is simply, 'oh you naughty person, give you another fine'.

So the scum who has no ability to pay the fine will end up with thousands of dollars owing and again no consequences.

Wake up!

Look after our communities.
