False name and no permit cost driver $400

GIVING a false name to police when she was caught driving without a permit has cost Courtney Lee Jones $400.

The Maryborough Magistrates Court heard Jones gave police a fake name when she was pulled over on Ambrose-White St on May 8.

They soon found her learner's permit had been suspended.

Jones, a student with a short traffic history, pleaded guilty to both offences.
