Family thrilled for Nathan

THE EFFORTS of Australian spinner Nathan Hauritz weren’t just celebrated in Melbourne yesterday – right here on the Fraser Coast his mum and dad, Julie and Terry, and sister Simone were also thrilled with his success.

“It was a big effort,” Julie said yesterday.

“He did very well today. We’re so proud of him.”

The family was in contact with Nathan soon after he took the wicket of Pakistan’s last batsman and Julie said he was “ecstatic” with his maiden five-wicket haul.

The family was equally thrilled with his contribution with the bat after he scored an impressive 75 runs when he was sent in as night watchman in the first innings.

“It was a huge contribution with the bat and the ball,” Julie said.
