Miss Manfield fashioning a new energy with fresh designs

HER time on reality TV show Project Runway may not have gone as smoothly as she had hoped, but Natashya Manfield is focusing on her fashion design back home on the Coast.

And it's starting to pay big dividends.

Miss Manfield, who owned a successful designer boutique in Mooloolaba under the same name, said the fashion show had stripped her confidence.

"Those close to me know I went on the show to win, but when I returned home I'd lost the most important thing - myself," she said.

"Everything I thought I knew; that I wanted to believe about fashion, was shattered during my time on the show."

Her boutique, Miss Manfield, opened in November 2011 and was closely followed by Mr Manfield, which focused on menswear.

But after finding she had lost some of her passion for the industry, Miss Manfield decided the former stores had to go and now will be relaunching with the Natashya Manfield Designer Boutique.

The new improved store will showcase her self-titled label and Kimberly Moon designs with a philosophy to "define and re-define the modern woman as she evolves".

There will be limited quantities of 20 or less made per style with some one-off garments made by Natashya herself.

"The dominant international retail forces setting up shop in Australia don't worry me, nor does the increasing online presence of the fast fashion bandits," she said.

"The Natashya Manfield Boutique is about slowing things down in a time of chaos and remembering to reward ourselves for being unique ..."
